We Want You to Blog on HMB Patch

Passionate? Opinionated? Local resident? You may just be who we are looking for.

Half Moon Bay Patch has a group of great bloggers who write about everything from photography, art and fitness to provocative subjects such as domestic violence and transgenderism.

We're looking for bloggers who can riff on various topics, share their personality and engage our readers in discussions.

Patch is more than a news site, it's an online conversation about your community.

  • Are you passionate and knowledgeable about issues in Half Moon Bay, Montara, Moss Beach, El Granada, Princeton, or Pescadero? Do you live in this area?
  • Are you an craftsperson or hobbyist who can share tips and do-it-yourself projects?
  • Do you love to fish, surf, or explore the Coastside on land or sea?
  • Are you a farmer, gardener, or someone who raises chickens in your backyard?
  • Do you have strong opinions about local government or our local schools?
  • Or do you have a unique niche or interesting perspective you'd love to share with us?
  • Can you just make us all laugh—and can you write compellingly?

If so, we want to hear from you.

This isn't a reporting job. It's blogging. You write what you want to say when you want to say it. Do it on your schedule, whether that's posting multiple entries per day or a couple times a month.

Patch won't own what you post, so you can repost your entries to your other blogs. Much like The Huffington Post has done, Patch is providing local bloggers an online platform to have their words seen by a larger audience. Bloggers will work on a volunteer basis.

Be interesting. Be provocative. Be yourself.

My role as editor would be to review blog entries submitted to Half Moon Bay Patch to ensure quality. I may make small spelling, grammar and style changes to help your blog shine.

If you'd like to chat about the opportunity to share your unique voice with our readers, let me know by contacting me at kristine.wong@patch.com.

If you'd like to know what it's like to blog from a blogger's perspective, feel free to contact any of our bloggers here.

I look forward to hearing from you and the many voices of our community.
