Weather Service Issues High Surf Advisory and More Rain

Large Northwest swell will impact the Coastal Peninsula through midnight tonight.

A series of storms have generated a large ocean swell, which will continue to create large breakers at area beaches tonight. A high surf advisory is in effect through midnight tonight.

Rain will develop overnight as another weather system moves in from the Northwest, according to the National Weather Service. About a half inch of rain is forecast by daybreak with some areas possibly receiving up to an inch. Rain rates are expected to be light to moderate. Local ponding on area roadways is likely overnight.

Rain will continue into tomorrow morning with decreasing showers in the afternoon. Another weaker weather system will bring light rain to the region on Sunday afternoon and evening.
