The yearly fundraisers at the Bach keep getting better and more exciting each year. The repertoire is versatile, and will include swinging jazz/hard bop/post bop, Latin/Brazilian, bluesy-funky sounds, blending in flavors of world music, such as Balkan/Middle Eastern/ flamenco, featuring the sassy Kim Nalley headlining the vocal spot. Multi-reed saxophonist Noel Jewkes, the legendary Bay Area favorite; along with guitarist Josh Workman – a most versatile musician and a guest member of Kim Nalley’s band; will form the instrumental front line. Special guest, flutist Roger Glenn, will add spice to the Latin Jazz/funky flavor, as will the hot, Puerto Rican born, Latin/Jazz percussionist Hector Lugo. The all star Bay Area rhythm section of pianist/organizer, Larry Vuckovich; bassist/mandolinist Michael Zisman, and drummer Akira Tana will give fiery support to the ensemble.
