Coastal Arts League 29th Annual Juried Show

The Coastal Arts League is celebrating its 29th Juried Competition with a show that will run from December 13, 2013 - January 19, 2014. Reception and Awards Ceremony, open to the public, will be on Saturday, December 14, 5-7 PM.   Refreshments will be served.

Due to space limitations, only 50 entries were selected for show, out of almost 400 submitted.  Subject matter includes paintings, mixed media, photography, digital artwork, and sculpture. Entrants included artists from Texas, Hawaii, Virginia, Alabama, Nebraska, Michigan, and Maine. Deb Wong, who ran the show up to the hanging of the work, said that "Approximately 45% of the entrants are from Half Moon Bay and the Coastside, 45% from cities in California, and 10% from out-of-state.  Since I’ve been doing the show, this year produced the most out-of-state entrants."

There will be $950. in prizes awarded. This year, the runners-up prizes were raised from $50 to $75.

CAL's Juror this year is the esteemed Dr. Jonathan Fung: Art Educator, Award-Winning  Filmmaker and Installation Artist.
