This morning I received a "Press Release" from the City of HMB. Along with announcing this "Open House" regarding our Circulation Element, there will apparently be another meeting the following day at 4:00 PM in the same location (the old Police Station) on the City's Strategic Plan. The Press Release was no doubt released by the City's contracted communications firm and the City is "sponsoring" both meetings. For those interested in HMB's vision of long term growth, I would suggest trying to make these meetings. The first one, the one on the Circulation Element, however, might be a bit premature as the CDP approved by the HMB Planning Commission to start the "plan" turned project has been appealed to the CA Coastal Commission - which means all movement in the direction of starting that "plan" turned project has come to an immediate halt. That CDP approval was appealed by one local resident and in a separate appeal, by two of the Coastal Commissioners. Both meetings, however, should provide anyone interested with good information to take home and think about. What are your visions for HMB going forward? You have the opportunity to share them and perhaps even have them considered at either or both meetings.
