Impact of Sea-Level Rise on San Mateo County

Dave Pine, Supervisor, San Mateo County Board, will provide an overview of the potential impacts of sea-level rise on San Mateo County. San Mateo County is the most vulnerable county to sea-level rise in the state of California, and at risk are people, property, ecosystems and the economy.

In our County alone, the projected impact affects 110,000 people, seven wastewater treatment plants and property valued at $24 billion.

Supervisor Pine will discuss the steps that have been taken to address sea-level rise and a call to action for what more can be done. Learn more about this important public policy issue that has an impact on everyone in the County.

As part of our ongoing non-partisan mission to educate voters on issues, the League of Women Voters of South San Mateo County and the League of Women Voters of North and Central San Mateo County host free presentations open to the public.

These programs are an excellent opportunity to become familiar with the local issues, meet speakers and participate in discussions.
