Mo Willems has to be one of most versatile authors in the business today. Take, for instance, KNUFFLE BUNNY http://catalog.plsinfo.org/record=b1966951~S1 and the books that followed, DON'T LET THE PIGEON DRIVE THE BUS http://catalog.plsinfo.org/record=b1034307~S1 and the other pigeon adventures, or the ELEPHANT AND PIGGY SERIES http://catalog.plsinfo.org/record=b1872721~S1 a favorite of mine when I'm doing story times including the very latest A BIG GUY TOOK MY BALL! http://catalog.plsinfo.org/record=b2164830~S1. Now Mo has come out with a new book THAT IS NOT A GOOD IDEA http://catalog.plsinfo.org/record=b2176651~S1, the classic tale of a trusting goose and a wily fox (or maybe not) with fantastic illustrations in a style that gives the whole story a sort of ominous Central European kind of flavor. As in many of his stories, you think you know where this is going...but do you really? With Mo Willems it doesn't pay to let your guard down.
Of course Mo has a website http://www.mowillems.com/ with a lot of fun interactive activities. He also has an app for your iPad (for a charge) which involves drawing and writing your own stories. You never can tell when he is going to pop up on the GUYS READ http://www.guysread.com/ which always has a lot of fun and interesting things and many good reading recommendations. Some of his stories have also made it onto DVD
