Subway to Remove Shoe Rubber Ingredient From Bread:  The Subway sandwich chain said they will stop making bread adding an ingredient used to make rubber for the soles of shoes.  In Subway’s defense, a lot of people seem to really enjoy sole food. 

Florida Woman Pulls Gun on Neighbors Over Loud Music:  Police in West Palm Beach, Florida have arrested an intoxicated 47-year-old woman for allegedly bursting into her neighbor’s home to threaten them with a gun for playing their music too loudly.  She’d better be careful or she could end up in Sing Sing.  Come on people, can’t we all just sing along?


Controversy Over Federal Protections for Gray Wolves:  A proposal to lift federal protections for gray wolves across most of the U.S. suffered a significant setback as an independent review panel said the government is relying on unsettled science to make its case.  And with all the worry about losing federal protections, is it any wonder why these wolves are going gray? 

Drought Emergency Declared in California:  Gov. Jerry Brown has officially declared a drought emergency in California, urging residents to cut water use by 20%.  I’ve seen firsthand just how devastating a drought can be.  My houseplants haven’t seen any water in over a year.

Largest Baby Ever Born in California:  A Northern California baby who weighed in at a whopping 16 pounds, 1.7 ounces has been named the largest baby ever born in the state.  Experts are quick to point out that while this is indeed a very big baby, it could never be as big of a baby as Justin Bieber.


Elderly Woman Arrested for Feeding Bears and Threatening Police:  An 81-year-old retired teacher in Florida has been arrested after she repeatedly ignored a judge’s order to stop feeding black bears and then threatened police officers when they arrived at her home to arrest her.  Ironically, this entire dilemma could have been avoided had she instead chosen to feed the cops and threaten the bears.

Report Claims Many Chinese Living in Caves:  According to a recent report published in the Los Angeles Times, over 30 million Chinese citizens are making their homes in caves.  To make matters worse, a lot of couples who’ve moved to the caves have found that their relationships are on the rocks.
