HMB's First Artist Residency Will Feature Public Practice Pieces

The first artist residency program in Half Moon Bay is coming in September 2013. Paige Tighe holds a master's degree in public practice art from OTIS in LA. She will be the residency's first artist and will continue her Walk With Me program here on the coast.

What better place to walk than along the coastal trail? We are fortunate that the February and July outdoor piano performance pieces by Mauro ffortissimo put Half Moon Bay on the art radar. Paige's work will continue in this spirit, though perhaps more intimately, as she holds hands and walks with strangers, recording their reactions to the walk.

Paige recently completed a series of walks, funded by her Kickstarter campaign, along the East Coast. She ended that phase of her project in Georgia where she created monotypes and a book of the Walk With Me experiences.

One of Paige's walks in Athens Georgia was with Leslie.

"I think about what it would be like to walk with Leslie several times. would it be as magical? Or would we get used to each other? I am excited to have the time to explore this idea in the Fall in Half Moon Bay."
