I Like the New Farmer's Market - Do You?

Farmer's Markets offer lots of photo opportunities. Today's new market at Princeton Harbor was no exception.

Sunday was the opening of the Princeton Harbor Farmer’s Market which is being held in the Oceano Hotel mall and the exterior parking lot.

There were many fun activities for families – a small petting zoo, face painting, and a slide for the kiddies, and plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables and flowers at the booths outside. The indoor mall area was full of artisans and it was nice to see the stores open and plenty of people coming through the building and grounds.

The live music added to the fun atmosphere at the entrance to the mall and despite the cooler and windy day, there were plenty of people out to see the new market.

I talked to several vendors who are doing other markets on Saturdays in addition to this one on Sundays. The artists inside were getting a lot of traffic and hopefully some sales. People who live in El Granada liked that they could walk to this market location – some from Moss Beach and El Granada said that they don’t like to make the drive down to Half Moon Bay so they were happy for a closer alternative. Others said they will attend both markets.

The social atmosphere of neighbors and friends running into one another at the market added a nice feeling to the event. I saw many of my friends with their children and met some new friends too.
