Monday, Labor Day, will be the last operating day of the famed Hurricane roller coaster at the Santa Cruz Boardwalk.
After today's last ride, the 20-year-old coaster with the famous corkscrew drop will be dismantled and shipped to Western Playland Amusement Park in New Mexico.
The Hurricane will be replaced in 2013 with the Undertow, a coaster-style ride with cars that rotated while gliding down the track.
The Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk is located at 400 Beach St. in Santa Cruz. For more information, go to www.beachboardwalk.com/
