Photo of the Day: Reflections of a Tiny Bird

This tiny chick was perched on my car when I returned from the 4th of July parade. Can you identify it?

Snuggled up against its reflection, a tiny bird still covered with down perched precariously against the window of my car. I looked around for its mother, listening for a shrill warning to its young to stay still. But, nothing.

It had no flight feathers and I wasn't parked under a tree. How it got on the ledge of my car door is a mystery. I tried to shoo it away, but it clearly had no flight feathers and no urge to give flight a try. Instead, it tucked its head into its wing for a nap.

I finally picked it up and gently placed it in a nearby bush, high enough to be out of reach of predators.

If you can identify this chick, tell us in the comment section below.
