Who is Your Half Moon Bay Valentine?

Tell us who you appreciate here in the Coastside community and why.

Today is Valentine's Day.

Some — but not all — have that special person to celebrate Valentine's Day with in that traditional way: dinner, flowers, and intentional time spent together.

Others may be celebrating in a more nontraditional way: with their friends, with their family, with their kids, by themselves — or not celebrating at all.

Regardless of what your plans are today and who you'll be with — Half Moon Bay Patch invites you to share with us who is your Half Moon Bay Valentine.

Your Valentine isn't necessarily your partner. Whether he or she is aware of it or not, your Valentine could be your best friend, your pet, your mail delivery person or the person who helps you find what you need every time you go to the store. It could be someone you appreciate for what they do every day or what they do for the community. Your Valentine doesn't even have to volunteer around the clock for every nonprofit organization in town. They could be your Valentine just for being the person they are — and for bringing their unique presence to the Coastside.

Remember in grade school (well, we did this in my school, anyways) when everyone brought 30 Valentine's Day cards and delivered one to each student's desk — but you never really got to single out the person you really wanted to give that special Valentine to?

Think of this as your opportunity to recognize and deliver that Valentine's Day card to that person — or persons. After all, if we each had 30 Valentines before the age of 10, it's certainly okay to have more than one now that we're a little bit older.

Tell us who your local Valentines are here on the Coastside and why. Extra bonus points for anyone who uploads a photo of their Valentine(s).
