Please Welcome Banning-Beaumont Patch Guest Editor Matthew Schoenmann!

Local Editor Renee Schiavone will be out on maternity leave for the next several weeks.

Hello all!

Banning-Beaumont Patch Editor Renee Schiavone here, with some news about the site for you.

For the next several weeks, I will be out on maternity leave, as my husband and I expect the arrival of our first baby any day now.  As our little girl is sure to take up a great deal of time at first, I will not be the primary editor/reporter during my leave.

Rather, in the meantime, you'll continue to receive timely news and information updates from around the Pass area through a great guest editor who will be helping to run the site.

and is the perfect substitute editor since he was born and raised in the I.E., in nearby Redlands, and used to work for the Press-Enterprise, from 2003 to 2009.  Mathew has been helping write articles for Patch for some time now, and is great with putting news videos up as well.

"If you see a guy wandering around with long hair and headphones around his neck, and holding a tripod with a DSLR camera full of crazy attachments you may have never seen before- that is probably me," Matt says.  "Please stop by and say hey."

You can continue to email me with your story ideas and I'll be sure they get to Matt, or you can contact him directly at matthew.schoenmann@gmail.com.

Thank you for continuing to read Patch, and I'll be back soon!

How about reporting on the resent Grand Jury investigative report on the hospital?? It was just released and might help shed some light into why there is such disdain for the current expansion and increased tax burden faced by the Pass area residents.. That seems news worthy since the Patch was sooo willing to help promote or report on the tax measure that "Needed" to be passed....

How about the person that was hit by a car on Oak Valley Parkway, the high speed chase that ended in the mobile home park, the burglery at Hair pros (to name a few recent newsworthy events) how about a police blotter on this as many other patches have

I guess I'll have to reduce my checking here to a couple of times a week since breaking news doesn't seem to be happening anymore.

I am finding this site very hard to navigate and once an event is posted, impossible to edit. There is a photo on my event which needs to be removed and the event still indicates "FREE" - but there is a cost to it which needs to be given with a registration form. The event is the Beaumont High School 50th Reunion for the Class of 1962.
