Five people were arrested for obstructing a peace officer in San Mateo County early Wednesday morning, deputies said.

At about 3:30 a.m., sheriff's deputies were dispatched to a vacant residence in the 500 block of Palma Street in El Granada on a report of trespassers.

Suspects jumped from the windows and ran from the house when deputies arrived on scene.  Deputies could see two male subjects inside trying to hide and commanded the suspects that were still inside the home to come out of hiding.

Deputies then entered the house and heard the sound of footsteps from the upper level, and saw another subject jump out of a window and over a fence, according to the police report.

Eventually a male and female came down the stairs.

While detaining the two, two additional males came down the stairs, and two more were located upstairs, one who jumped out a second story window and fled.

Deputies detained a total of five people, Anthony Campana, 27, of El Granada, Jules Gallant Basserman, 22, of El Granada, Danielle Denise Lee, 34, of Oakland, Ryan Austin, 28, of El Granada and Roberto Sonoqui-Carrillo, 28.

The suspects told sheriff's deputies that a friend had invited them to the home for a party but fled the scene once deputies arrived.

The homeowners were contacted and said that their son may have invited friends over for a party prior to the sale of their home.

The homeowners declined to press charges against the suspects for trespassing, deputies said.

The five suspects were arrested for obstructing a peace officer, deputies said.
