El Granada Man Arrested on Suspicion of Sexually Assaulting Student

The Aragon High water polo/swim coach was arrested Friday.

A coach at has been arrested on suspicion of sexual assault for allegedly touching a female student inappropriately, the San Mateo Police Department announced Friday evening.

Joshua Tatro, 25, was taken into custody without incident Friday following a weeks-long investigation into the incident, San Mateo police said.

Authorities believe Tatro, who has worked as a water polo/swim coach at Aragon High School for the past year, had "inappropriate sexual contact" with a female student.

The student, a juvenile, said that during the past year, Tatro had "touched her inappropriately," according to San Mateo police.

The incident was first reported to school officials, who immediately contacted the San Mateo Police Department.

Tatro, an El Granada resident, was booked into San Mateo County Jail on one count of sexual assault on a minor and one count of lewd acts with a minor.
