BLOTTER: Cunha Students Charged With Selling Pills; $100 Counterfeit Bill Found at Convenience Store

The following information was supplied by the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction. Police log for Half Moon Bay and the unincorporated San Mateo County Coast from Sept. 7-18

Sept. 7

600 block of Main St., Half Moon Bay: Information report. A disgruntled bank customer made verbal threats via the telephone to bank employees. The customer resides in another city, and that law enforcement agency was requested to contact the subject for a welfare check. A report was taken to document the incident.

Sept. 8

Cowell State Beach, Half Moon Bay: Stolen vehicle. A vehicle was stolen after the victim parked and locked her car, and when returning from the beach found broken glass on the ground and her vehicle missing. The vehicle was located the following day, with a broken front window and a backpack taken from the car.

Cowell State Beach, Half Moon Bay: Burglary. A purse was snatched from inside a vehicle, when unknown suspect(s) smashed the window and removed the purse, later using a credit card at a gas station.

 

Sept. 9

700 block of Arnold, Half Moon Bay: Vandalism. Deputy dispatched to report of vandalism when unknown suspect(s) spray-painted gang related graffiti on a fence.

 

Sept. 10

500 block of Alsace Lorraine Ave., Half Moon Bay: Public intoxication. An intoxicated 22-year-old man from Hayward was causing a disturbance because friends were trying to prevent him from driving. Upon arrival two male subjects were involved in an altercation, which continued outside the residence. One was determined to be too intoxicated to care for himself and was arrested and transported to SM County Jail.

700 block of George St., Montara: Petty theft. Six political signs were stolen from the front lawn of a residence. The loss was estimated at $12.

400 block of Poplar St., Half Moon Bay: Identity theft. Deputy took report of the fraudulent use of a credit account when the victim discovered unknown suspect(s) opened an online account using his credit information. The bank covered the $221.39 loss, and the victim was given identity theft information.

 

Sept. 11

600 block of Columbus St., El Granada: Domestic assault. Deputies dispatched to report of domestic disturbance in which the female party was determined to be the primary aggressor. The woman was arrested and transported to SM County Jail.

 

Sept. 12

No incidents reported.

 

Sept. 13

600 block of Church St., Half Moon Bay: Possession controlled substance for sale and possession marijuana under 28.5 grams. A 13-year-old Cunha Intermediate School student was found selling miscellaneous pills and in possession of a controlled substance suspected marijuana. He admitted to selling the pills for $5 to a 12-year-old student, who admitted to also selling the pills. Both were charged with possession of a controlled substance for sale, and one of them also charged with possession of marijuana.

Purissima Creek Rd@ S. Cabrillo Hwy., Un-incorporated: DUI. A driver was swerving in and out of lanes. Police performed routine traffic stop on suspect vehicle. The driver appeared to be intoxicated, and CHP arrived on scene to complete the DUI investigation and subsequent arrest.

 

Sept. 17

300 block of Capistrano Rd., Princeton: Public intoxication. Deputy on patrol observed subject having difficult time standing. The subject was determined to be too intoxicated to care for himself and he was arrested and transported to SM County Jail.

500 block of Kelly Ave., Half Moon Bay: Information report. Deputy responded to report of counterfeit $100 bill that was passed at a convenience store. The customer was not aware the bill was counterfeit. The report will be forwarded to the Secret Service for their information.

Venice Beach, Half Moon Bay: Misdemeanor warrant. Deputy on patrol observed subject who at first appeared to be unconscious in the driver’s seat of a parked vehicle. The Deputy checked on the driver who woke upon contact. The subject was found to be wanted on a misdemeanor warrant out of Alameda County, and was cited and released on his promise to appear in court.

500 block of Kelly Ave., Half Moon Bay: Annoying/harassing phone calls. A woman reported harassing text messages and voice messages sent to her by a person she knows. Deputies attempted to contact the subject, without success. The case will be forwarded to the DA for review.

500 block of The Alameda, El Granada: Missing person. Deputies took report of missing 18 year-old male who did not return home from school in San Francisco. The information was entered into the missing person’s database.

 

Sept. 18

100 block of Venice, Half Moon Bay: DUI. Deputy on patrol observed vehicle stopped in a no parking zone and contacted the driver, who stated his car wouldn’t start and he was lost. The driver appeared to be intoxicated and failed field sobriety tests. He was arrested and transported to First Chance.

300 block of Grove St., Half Moon Bay: Petty theft. Tools from an unlocked vehicle were stolen. The loss is estimated at $750.

600 block of Farallone Ave., Montara: Information report. Deputy took report of neighbor dispute. The one neighbor reported that water drains from her yard toward her neighbor’s house, and that the neighbor damaged her hose intentionally. The neighbor denied damaging the hose and was advised to call Deputies if the water drainage is a problem in the future.
