Blotter: Dog Walkers Brawl on Surfer's Beach, Man Arrested For 'Dating' Teen Girl

Here's what went down in Half Moon Bay over the weekend.

Friday, June 21

6:58 a.m. - 0-100 block of Apple Orchard Way Unincorporated - Vandalism - Deputy took report of vandalism, when an unknown suspect poured paint remover on a victim’s vehicle, causing approximately $1,000 in damage.

1:56 p.m. - Cypress @ Pilarcitos, Half Moon Bay - Misdemeanor warrant/Public intoxication - Deputy dispatched to report of 55-year-old female lying on a sidewalk. The woman appeared to be too intoxicated to care for herself, and was found to be wanted on a warrant out of San Mateo. She was arrested and transported to SM County Jail.

5:39 p.m. - SR92 @ SR35 Unincorporated - County ordinance violation - Vendor cited for peddling objects from side of roadway.

7:30 p.m. - Surfer's Beach, El Granada - Battery/County ordinance violation - Deputy was flagged down by a subject who claim he was assaulted an hour earlier by a man who was walking his dog off leash, and that the dog attempted to attack his dog. A verbal altercation ensued that escalated to a physical altercation. Both men gave different accounts of the incident of which there were no witnesses. The case will be forwarded to the District Attorney for review on charges of walking a dog off leash.

11:20 p.m. - 9800 block of Cabrillo Hwy., Unincorporated - Driving with suspended license - A 48 year old man from Montara was cited for driving with a suspended license.

Saturday, June 22

6:45 p.m. - Grey Whale Cove Unincorporated - Under influence controlled substance - Deputies dispatched to report of subject possibly under the influence of LSD and contacted a 25 year old male behaving erratically with bursts of violent behavior. The subject was treated by paramedics and transported to a hospital. Two male friends were also found to be under the influence of a controlled substance and were arrested and transported to SM County Jail.

Sunday, June 23

10 a.m. - Highway 1 @ Kelly Avenue, Half Moon Bay - Hit and run property damage collision - Deputy took report of hit and run collision that occurred the previous day. The RP stated an unknown driver rear ended his vehicle then fled the scene of the collision. 

2:14 a.m. - Princeton Ave @ West Point Princeton - Possession of controlled substance without prescription/Juvenile probation violation/Possession of marijuana under 28.5 gms - Deputy on patrol observed five subjects in a vehicle and made contact with them. An 18 year-old driver was found in possession of a narcotic without a prescription. A juvenile male passenger was found to be in violation of his probation conditions, and was arrested and transported to juvenile hall. Two female juveniles were found to be in possession of a small amount of marijuana and were cited and released to the custody of an adult.

2:03 p.m. - 600 block of Grove, Half Moon Bay - Public intoxication/Release from custody - Deputy dispatched to report of intoxicated subject causing a disturbance. The 44 year old man from Half Moon Bay was contacted and appeared to be too intoxicated to care for himself. He was arrested and transported to SM County Jail, to be released when sober.

10:40 p.m. - S. Cabrillo Hwy @ Filbert, Half Moon Bay - Possession hypodermic needle or syringe/Possession controlled substance/Possession narcotic controlled substance/Possession controlled substance paraphernalia - Deputy performed traffic stop on vehicle, and found the driver in possession of hypodermic needles and suspected heroin. The 55 year old female from Half Moon Bay consented to a search of her residence, where more controlled substance and paraphernalia were located. She was arrested on charges of possession of controlled substances and controlled substance paraphernalia.

Monday, June 24

1:21 a.m. - Half Moon Bay - Lewd act: child under 14/Oral cop: child under 14 - Deputy arrested a 26-year-old male suspect from Half Moon Bay found in the company of a 13-year-old female who claimed they were “dating.” The suspect was transported to San Mateo County Jail.
