Thursday, Oct. 3
1:45 a.m. - 400 block of Capistrano Rd., Princeton - Possession concentrate cannabis/Public intoxication - Deputy made contact with 56 year old subject sleeping in his vehicle, and determined the man to be too intoxicated to care for himself. The man admitted to being in possession of marijuana, and concentrated cannabis and a smoking pipe were located in his vehicle. The suspect was arrested and transported to SM County Jail.
200 block of Pilarcitos, Half Moon Bay - Hit and run - Deputy dispatched to report of hit and run collision, when a vehicle collided with a parked car. A witness reported seeing the suspect park his vehicle and leave without attempting to contact the owner of the damaged vehicle. Damage found on the suspect’s vehicle was consistent with the damage on the victim’s vehicle. Deputies made contact with the registered owner of the vehicle, who told Deputies he did exchange information with the victim. Both the victim and a witness deny the suspect attempted to exchange information. The case will be forwarded to the DA for prosecution.
8:30 a.m. - Poplar Bluffs, Half Moon Bay - Information Report - Deputy dispatched to report of suspicious person, who reportedly displayed a stun gun device, saying he would use it to defend himself against the reporting party’s dog. Deputies searched the area but did not locate the subject.
12:51 p.m. - 100 block of San Mateo Rd., Half Moon Bay - Information report - Deputy dispatched to report of battery, when an altercation ensued between a woman and her adult son. During an argument the son was reported to have been waving his arms and one of his hands made contact with the woman’s face. The woman did not wish to seek prosecution and the man denied hitting his mother. A report was taken to document the incident.
10:13 p.m. - N. Cabrillo at Medio, Half Moon Bay - Hit and run - Deputy dispatched to report of collision, when the reporting party advised an unknown driver struck his vehicle and fled the scene without exchanging information.
Friday, Oct. 4
1:30 p.m. - 100 block of San Mateo Rd., Half Moon Bay - Grand theft - Deputy took report of theft from an unlocked vehicle, when unknown suspect(s) took a backpack containing a laptop and school supplies, valued at approximately $2,200.
2:15 p.m. - Cabrillo Hwy at Tunitas Creek Rd., Half Moon Bay - Under influence controlled substance - Deputy dispatched to report of suspicious person looking into parked cars, and made contact with the 37 year old subject from Half Moon Bay. The man appeared to be under the influence of a controlled substance, and was arrested and transported to San Mateo County Jail.
2:30 p.m. - Cowell State Beach - Vehicle burglary - Deputy took report of theft from vehicle, when unknown suspect(s) smashed the victim’s window and took a bag containing a cell phone.
6:05 p.m. - Main St. at San Mateo Rd., Half Moon Bay - Possession controlled substance/Under influence controlled substance/Possession controlled substance without prescription - Deputy on patrol observed subject about to “J-walk” into oncoming traffic, and upon seeing the Deputy began to walk away quickly in another direction. The Deputy made contact with the 23-year-old man and found he appeared to be under the influence of a controlled substance. The man was in possession of hypodermic needles, numerous small ziplock baggies, medication not prescribed to him, and suspected methamphetamine. He was arrested and transported to San Mateo County Jail.
8:13 p.m. - 8100 block of Cabrillo Hwy., Montara - Vehicle burglary - Deputy dispatched to report of theft from vehicles, when unknown suspect(s) smashed the window on two vehicles and took a shoulder bag from one vehicle and a laptop from another.
10:39 p.m. - 0-100 block of N. Cabrillo, Half Moon Bay - Burglary (Shoplift)/Resist or obstruct peace officer/Under influence controlled substance/Possession of marijuana under 28.5 grams - Deputies dispatched to report of shoplifter, who ran out of the store in possession of stolen items. The suspect was located nearby, and took off on foot into thick brush. The Deputy gave foot pursuit and detained the subject, who admitted to stealing the items. The 20 year old from El Granada appeared to be under the influence of a controlled substance, and was also in possession of a small amount of marijuana. He was arrested and transported to San Mateo County Jail.
10:48 p.m. - 500 block of 6th St., Montara - Domestic assault - Deputies dispatched to report of domestic violence, when the female victim reported her husband assaulted her during an argument, leaving visible marks. The 39 year old man was determined to be the primary aggressor and was arrested and transported to San Mateo County Jail.
11:57 p.m. - 400 block of Oak, Half Moon Bay - Public intoxication/Released from custody - Deputies dispatched to report of loud party and made contact with several subjects. One man was uncooperative and was determined to be too intoxicated to care for himself. The 32 year old Half Moon Bay resident was arrested and transported to San Mateo County Jail, to be released when sober.
Saturday, Oct. 5
7 a.m. - 800 block of Airport, Moss Beach - Stolen vehicle - Deputy took report of stolen vehicle, which had been taken sometime while parked overnight.
2:15 p.m. - 1100 Main St., Half Moon Bay - Conspiracy to commit crime/Report false crime to peace officer - Deputy dispatched to report of stolen vehicle, when the reporting party advised her boyfriend’s vehicle had been stolen. A CHP Officer arrived and advised the vehicle in question had been involved in a hit and run on San Mateo Rd. Later that evening the woman and her boyfriend came to the substation to admit they had lied about the vehicle being stolen, and that the boyfriend had been driving the vehicle at the time of the hit and run collision. The report will be forwarded to the DA for review on charges of filing a false police report and conspiracy to commit a crime.
4:57 p.m. - 300 Block of Harvard, Princeton - Attempted vehicle theft/Possession burglary tools/Conspiracy to commit crime - Deputies dispatched to report of auto burglary in progress and observed two juvenile suspects inside the vehicle. The two male 16 year olds from Moss Beach and Half Moon Bay admitted to climbing a chain link fence to get onto the property. A backpack with numerous tools was located by the vehicle, and a “booster pack” used for charging dead batteries. The two juveniles were arrested and released to the custody of their parents, on their promise to appear in court.
6:05 p.m. - 100 block of 14th, Montara - Public intoxication/Released from custody - Deputy dispatched to report of disturbance, when the reporting party advised his girlfriend was intoxicated, and was acting belligerently. When the man began to call police for help, the woman reportedly chased him, trying to get the phone from him. The 22-year-old woman was determined to be too intoxicated to care for herself, and was arrested and transported to San Mateo County Jail, to be released when sober.
Sunday, Oct. 6
12:01 a.m. - 9th St. at Main, Montara - Assault/Battery - Deputies dispatched to report of disturbance and contacted the victim and a witness who reported the victim was assaulted by two subjects he met at a party and gave a ride to afterwards. The victim stated the two suspects wanted to go to San Francisco, but the victim refused, and a verbal argument ensued. The victim dropped the two off in Montara, where the two suspects began to punch and kick him numerous times, then fled on foot. The victim received minor injuries and declined medical attention.
8:58 p.m. - S. Cabrillo at Miramontes Pt Rd., Half Moon Bay - Grand theft - Deputy dispatched to assist State Parks regarding theft investigation in their jurisdiction.
