BLOTTER: Drunken Spinout; Charcoal Lifting

The following information was supplied by the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction. Police log for Half Moon Bay and the unincorporated San Mateo County Coastside from Aug. 4-11.

Aug. 4

7:48 am, 1800 block of Higgins Purisima Road: Warrant arrest. A man was contacted by officers because of an outstanding arrest warrant, and was taken to county jail.

10:01 am, Johnson and Kelly: Vehicle tow. A vehicle was towed due to an expired registration.

10:30 am, 100 block of Harvard Avenue, Princeton: Residential burglary. Three laptops, two cameras and two gold rings were stolen from an unlocked residence.

5:55 pm, 400 block of Filbert: Lost property. Property was reported lost.

7:38 pm, 300 block of Butano Cut Off, Pescadero: Warrant arrest. A man was contacted by officers because of an outstanding arrest warrant, and was taken to county jail.

Aug. 5

11:11 am, 0-100 block of North Cabrillo Highway: Petty theft with priors. A man stole charcoal and a lounge chair from the front display outside a store and was placed under citizen's arrest then taken to county jail.

10:30 pm, Cabrillo Highway and Miramontes: DUI. A vehicle was pulled over after it was observed swerving over designated lines of the highway. The driver was found to be under the influence of alcohol and was taken to county jail.

Aug. 6

12:01 am, South Cabrillo and Miramontes Point Road: DUI. After observing a vehicle swerving side to side and drifting into the oncoming lane, officers pulled it over and found the driver to be intoxicated and was arrested, then taken to county jail.

1:04 am, North Cabrillo and Medio: DUI. When a speeding vehicle was pulled over the driver was found to be intoxicated and failed sobriety tests. He was arrested and taken to county jail.

Aug. 7

2:22 am, 300 block of San Mateo Road: DUI. An 18-year-old drunk driver was seen spinning out in his vehicle. He was arrested and taken to county jail.

Aug. 8

10:30 am, 100 block of San Mateo Road: Credit card fraud. Officers took report of fraudulent use of someone's credit card.

5:42 pm, 100 block of Culebra Street, Moss Beach: Incident report. Two juveniles were released to their parents after being discovered starting a fire on a hillside at the Pillar Ridge Modular Home complex.

Aug. 9

3:00 pm, Half Moon Bay Substation: Incident report. Someone contacted an officer to surrender a firearm as required by a civil harassment order.

Aug. 10

11:29 am, 400 block of Miramontes Avenue: Vandalism. A side-view mirror of a truck was broken while it was parked overnight.

Aug. 11

4:30 pm, 0-100 block of North Cabrillo Highway: Incident. Lost property was reported.

8:20 pm, 0-100 block of Amesport Landing: Incident. A structure was reported on fire, and residents were evacuated from either side of the building.
