BLOTTER: Elderly Woman Assaulted, House Engulfed in Flames
The following information was supplied by the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction. Police log for Half Moon Bay and the unincorporated San Mateo County Coast from Sept. 21-28.
Sept. 21
8:03 am, 4200 block of North Cabrillo Highway: Traffic collision. Minor injuries were sustained.
8:40 am, 100 block of San Mateo Road: DUI, misdemeanor warrant, driver with suspended license. A possible drunk driver was pulled over and found to be driving under the influence. He was transported to county jail.

11:03 am, 300 block of Saint Andrews Lane: Incident report. A neighbor in dispute between another neighbor claimed he was being yelled at and wanted the incident documented.
3:00 pm, Montara State Beach: Auto burglary. Various items were taken from a vehicle that was broken into.

5:30 pm, 600 block of The Alameda, El Granada: Battery. While walking home, a resident was yelled at by someone driving past him or her. Later the driver came to the resident's house and pushed her way through into the home and assaulted them. The fight was broken up and the assaulter fled.
5:48 pm, 600 block of Coronado Street: El Granada: Incident report. A dog was observed attacking a jogger and was fought off.
Sept. 22
2:56 am, Highway 1, Montara: DUI. A driver was pulled over and found to be under the influence of alcohol, then arrested and taken to county jail.
9:30 am, Metzgar and Railroad: Vehicle tow. A vehicle was towed due to expired registration.
3:55 pm, South Cabrillo Highway and Kelly: Traffic collision. A minor injury was sustained.
5:55 pm, 1600 block of South Cabrillo Highway: Incident report. A dog was stolen and then later returned to its owner.
Sept. 23
9:00 am, 200 block of Granelli Avenue: Theft. A wallet containing a driver's license, three credit cards and about $200 in cash was stolen from an unlocked vehicle overnight.
9:21 am, 5000 block of Cabrillo Highway: Grand theft. A "Water Buffalo" was stolen from the Devil Slide tunnel project.
9:45 am, 10000 block of La Honda Road: Credit card fraud. Someone's credit card was used to make fraudulent charges.
10:30 am, Half Moon Bay High School: Possession of marijuana. Two students, one on probation in possession of marijuana, and the other in possession of a pipe, were discovered. The student in possession of the marijuana was arrested and released to a parent.
1:05 pm, Kelly and Pilarcitos: Drunk in public. A man lying on the street was determined to be too intoxicated to care for himself and was arrested, transported to First Chance, and released from custody.
11:33 pm, Route 1 and Main: Crimes against elder, felony assault, possession of controlled substance/paraphernalia, driving with suspended license, violation of restraining order. Officers dispatched to report of an assault in progress. The vehicle in question was seen driving southbound on Highway 1, the driver slamming the elderly passenger's head into the window numerous times. When the vehicle stopped the passenger got out of the car and called for help. The driver was detained while the victim was treated for head and wrist injuries. The driver was found to be in possession of heroin and was arrested.
2:45 pm, 200 block of San Mateo Road: False ID to peace officer. Unlicensed driver. Officers cited somone for selling food without a permit.
Sept. 24
Avenue Alhambra and Coronado Street, El Granada: DUI. A driver was found on the side of the road in his car without his lights on and was found to be under the influence of alcohol.

1:30 am, Cloverdale Road, Pescadero: Incident report. A house was found completely engulfed in flames while the owners were out of town.
7:44 am, 2000 block of Avignon Pl: Grand theft. A camera, laptop and other miscellaneous items were stolen from two unlocked vehicles.
7:50 am, 4000 block of North Cabrillo Highway: Burglary. A commercial burglary was committed at this location.
8:49 am, 100 block of Tiller: Theft. A stereo was pried out of an unlocked vehicle.
10:26 am, 1500 block of Hawser: Theft. A GPS unit was taken from an unlocked vehicle.
12:27 pm, 700 block of Arnold: Vehicle tow. An abandoned vehicle was towed.
4:00 pm, 500 block of Main Street: Public intoxication. A man urinated in public, was found to be intoxicated and was arrested.
7:05 pm, Cabrillo Highway and Main Street: DUI. A driver was found to be under the influence and was arrested.
Sept. 27
Cabrillo Highway and Martins Beach: DUI. Officers checked out a stopped vehicle on the side of the road and found the driver to be intoxicated. He was arrested and taken to county jail.
9:00 am, 0-100 block of Higgins Canyon Road: Grand theft. Two brass draft hydrants were stolen.
5:25 pm, 100 block of San Mateo Road: Hit and run. During a hit-and-run, property was damaged, and the driver was later found and placed under arrest.
5:45 pm, Highway 1 and Redondo Beach Road: Traffic collision. There were no injuries reported.
Sept. 28
3:00 pm, 400 block of Kelly: Hit-and-run. Property was damaged in a hit-and-run collision.
