BLOTTER: Channeling the Stepfather, Fleeing Driver in a Field

The following information was supplied by the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction. Police log for Half Moon Bay and the unincorporated San Mateo County Coast from Nov. 7 - 14.

Nov. 7

3:00 pm, Half Moon Bay High School: Contributing to delinquency of a minor. A high school student's boyfriend posed as her stepfather and called the school to notify them of her absence on two occasions.

1:28 am, Cabrillo Highway and Magellan Avenue: DUI. Officers stopped a car driving over double yellow lines and found the driver to be under the influence of alcohol.

2:47 am, 8100 block of Cabrillo Highway: Warrant arrest. When officers found someone sitting in her vehicle, they could smell alcohol and found an outstanding warrant for her arrest.

10:05 am, block of Route 92: Threats. Officers arrested someone making threats towards an employee of a business. 

12:25 pm, 300 block of Main Street: Petty theft. A cell phone was stolen.

1:15 pm, 100 block of Route 1: Traffic collision. A traffic collision occurred without causing injuries.

Nov. 9

12:49 pm, 500 block of Main Street: Vehicle towed. An abandoned vehicle was towed.

12:23 am, Route 1 and Kelly: Speed, reckless driving, resisting an officer. Officers observed a vehicle drive through a red light losing traction in the middle of the intersection, accelerate up to 80 mph after officers attempted to pull it over, while the headlights were turned off. When the vehicle stopped in a field, everyone inside the car fled on foot but halted at the officer's order except the driver who kept running. His father was notified and he turned himself in.

8:53 am, 0-100 block of Bloom lane: Petty theft. A pair of hiking boots were stolen from an unlocked storage compartment. 

Nov. 12

12:01 am, Correas and Main: DUI. Officers arrested a drunk driver that may have hit something before turning sharply.

2:13 am, 200 block of San Mateo Road: Driving under the influence. Officers pulled over and arrested a drunk driver.

9:35 am, 0-100 block of North Cabrillo Highway: Petty theft. A man was seen leaving a store with a bottle of liquor without paying for it.

7:07 pm, 0-100 block of North Cabrillo Highway: Public intoxication. A drunken man was harassing patrons of a business and was arrested.

10:45 pm, 0-100 block of Stone Pine Road: Public intoxication. Several people were yelling and making noise, and all dispersed except for one . He was arrested and taken to county jail.

Nov. 13

1:40 am, 300 block of Main: Public intoxication. A woman in an argument with her boyfriend was too intoxicated to care for herself and was arrested.

7:21 am, 200 block of San Mateo Road: Fraud. After a man wired $3,100 to a woman in South Africa he reported a crime report when the same woman asked for $2,500 more.

Nov. 14

12:01 am, 900 block of Arnold: Hit and run. Property was damaged in a hit and run collision.

1:14 am, Main and San Mateo Road: DUI. A car driving erratically was pulled over and the driver was found to be intoxicated.
