Blotter: Man Pays for Hotel Room With Counterfeit Money; Hunter Without a License Shoots a Deer

Here's what went down in Half Moon Bay over the weekend.

Friday, May 31

4 p.m. - 0-100 N. Cabrillo Hwy, Half Moon Bay - Petty theft - Deputy took report of the theft of an unsecured bicycle from in front of a restaurant.

11:53 p.m. -  1000 block of Miramontes St, Half Moon Bay -  Misdemeanor warrant -  Deputy dispatched to report of disturbance between landlord and tenant. The parties were contacted and the 51 year old tenant was found to be wanted on a misdemeanor warrant out of San Mateo County. She was arrested and transported to San Mateo County Jail.

Saturday, June 1

1:21 a.m. -  0-100 block of N. Cabrillo Hwy, Half Moon Bay -  Possession controlled substance,  narcotic controlled substance,  Possession of hypo needle or syringe -  Deputies dispatched to report of a suspicious person at a retail store. The 55 year old woman was found in possession of methamphetamines, heroin, cocaine, narcotics, and an unused syringe. She was arrested and transported to San Mateo County Jail.

2:24 a.m. -  2400 block of S. Cabrillo, Half Moon Bay -  Counterfeit -  Deputy dispatched to hotel on the report that a hotel guest had used three counterfeit $100 bills to pay for his room. The subject told the hotel clerk he lost his wallet and had no ID, and gave a false address. The case will be forwarded to the Secret Service for their review.

4:40 a.m. -  12000 block of Cabrillo Hwy, Pescadero -  Residential burglary -  Deputies dispatched to report of residential burglary alarm, and upon arrival found that French doors to the home had been pried open causing significant damage to the doors. The suspect apparently fled the area when the alarm went off.

9:59 a.m. -  12000 block of San Mateo Rd Unincorporated San Mateo County -  Information report -  Deputies responded to a ranch on the report of a man with a gun, who told a ranch owner he had shot a deer nearby, and admitted to not having a hunting license. The subject was told to leave the property, and when the ranch owner called the Sheriff’s Office, the subject ran from the area. A report was taken to document the incident.

8:10 p.m. -  8100 block of Pescadero Creek Rd, Pescadero - Petty theft -  Deputy dispatched to report of possible petty theft, when one business partner reportedly forcibly took business receipts from the other partner. The case will be forwarded to the DA for review.

9:03 p.m. -  100 block of San Mateo Rd, Half Moon Bay -  Misdemeanor warrant -  Deputies dispatched to report of a disturbance between four subjects within a vehicle, and found one of them to be wanted on a misdemeanor warrant out of San Mateo and another misdemeanor warrant out of San Francisco. The 28 year old transient was arrested and transported to San Mateo County Jail. The other three subjects were released at the scene.

Sunday, June 2

3:28 a.m. - Coronado at Highway 1, El Granada - DUI -  Deputy on patrol observed vehicle cross over double yellow lines and then over fog line, and performed traffic stop. The 24 year old driver from La Honda appeared to be intoxicated and failed field sobriety tests. He was arrested and transported to San Mateo County Jail.

3:48 a.m. - 1st at Filbert Street, Half Moon Bay - DUI  under age 21 -  Driver cited for driving under the influence of alcohol under the age of 21, with BAC over .01. The vehicle was towed and the driver cited and released on his promise to appear.

3:48 a.m. - 1st at Filbert Street, Half Moon Bay - Probation violation -  Deputies performing a traffic stop found a 17 year old passenger from Montara to be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage. The juvenile was found to be on probation with curfew and alcohol conditions. He was arrested and transported to the Youth Services Center.

7 a.m. - 500 block of Ave. Alhambra, El Granada - Grand theft -  Deputy took report of the theft of tools and machine parts from a carport. The loss was estimated at $7,060.

8:57 p.m. -  200 block of Stage Road, Pescadero Public intoxication -  Deputies dispatched to report of 58 year old woman, who was determined to be too intoxicated to care for herself. She was arrested and transported to San Mateo County Jail, to be released when sober.
