BLOTTER: Gang Shooting, Brandished Weapon, Fishtailed Car

The following information was supplied by the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction. Police log for Half Moon Bay and the unincorporated San Mateo County Coast from Oct. 7 - 14.

Oct. 7

10:08 am, 400 block of Wavecrest: Incident report. Locks were found missing from a shed at Smith Field.

10:50 am, 500 block of Kelly: Misdemeanor warrant. A man with an outstanding warrant was arrested.

2:22 pm, 400 block of Church: Petty theft. A wallet containing $60 was reported stolen.

8:58 pm, 400 block of Willow: Attempted murder, participation in criminal street gang. A Hispanic man was shot in his upper torso by someone on a bicycle who was later arrested. (To see a news report about this incident on Half Moon Bay Patch, click ).

Oct. 8

1:35 am, Main and Stone Pine: DUI. One driver involved in a non-injury collision was found to be under the influence of alcohol and was arrested.

12:00 pm, Nevada Avenue, Moss Beach: Theft. $133 was stolen from a cash box at the visitor's center of Fitzgerald Marine Reserve.

Oct. 9

12:20 am, Highway 1 and Virginia Avenue, Moss Beach: DUI. Officers pulled over a vehicle after observing it drive into a ditch and then accelerate out at a high rate of speed causing the car to fishtail. The driver was found to be intoxicated and was arrested.

1:00 am, Church and Kelly Avenue: Public intoxication. An officer on patrol found a man too intoxicated to care for himself and took him to county jail.

8:15 pm, Filbert and Route 1: Driving with suspended license. A driver was cited for driving without proof of insurance and having a suspended license.

Oct. 10

12:22 am, 200 block of San Mateo Road: DUI. An officer pulled over a car crossing double yellow lines into the oncoming lane. He failed sobriety tests and was arrested.

3:10 pm, 100 block of Main: Traffic collision. A non-injury traffic collision occurred.

3:50 pm, 100 block of North Cabrillo Highway: Public intoxication, probation violation, vandalism. Three juveniles were reported intoxicated in public, commiting vandalism, and violating probation.

9:50 pm, 900 block of Arnold: DUI, hit and run. Officers tracked down a vehicle that hit a car and fled from the scene, finding the driver to be intoxicated. He was arrested on charges of hit and run and driving under the influence.

Oct. 11

10:00 am, 400 block of Miramontes Street: Commercial burglary. Two microphones and guitars were stolen from a church.

Time unknown, 500 block of Willow Avenue: Attempted burglary. Someone violated a domestic violence restraining order.

Time unknown, Highway 1 and 16th Street: Public intoxication. A man was arrested for being drunk in public.

Oct. 12

12:23 am, 2900 block of North Cabrillo Highway: Possession of controlled substance. A man was reported looking into a hotel window, and was detained for being under the influence of a controlled substance, believed to be methamphetamines. He was arrested and taken to county jail.

12:45 pm, 500 block of Kelly: Public intoxication. A man was found lying on the ground too intoxicated to care for himself and was taken to county jail.

3:30 pm, 2000 block of Touraine: Brandishing weapon. A resident reported a man displaying a handgun in a threatening way outside a window.

11:05 pm, 0-100 block of Miramontes Point Road: Public intoxication. A drunken man was causing a disturbance in a hotel lobby and was taken to county jail.

Oct. 13

Oct. 14

11:02 am, 500 block of Kelly: Driving without a license. A driver was cited for speeding and driving without a license and proof of insurance.
