BLOTTER: Minors Drinking Alcohol Around a Campfire; Hit and Run Driver

The following information was supplied by the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction. Police log for Half Moon Bay and the unincorporated San Mateo County Coast from June 1-11.

 

 

June 1

1:44 p.m., 100 Block of N. Cabrillo Hwy.: Traffic collision. Deputies were dispatched to a non-injury traffic collision.

1:37 p.m., 100 Block of Amesport Landing: Possession of controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. Deputies made contact inside with subjects in a parked vehicle. Upon contact, deputies smelled a strong odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. During the search of the vehicle, deputies located a clear plastic baggie with suspected methamphetamine and several glass pipes. The 19-year-old passenger admitted to ownership of the items. Subject was arrested and taken to San Mateo County Jail.

4:55 p.m., S. Cabrillo Hwy/ Miramontes Point Rd.: Minor in possession of alcohol. During a routine traffic stop deputies discovered a subject driving without a license. Also found was a male juvenile in violation of his probation. He was taken and booked into Juvenile Hall.

10:32 p.m., 4000 Block of Cabrillo Hwy.: Intoxication. A deputy made contact with a subject, who was found to be too intoxicated to care for himself and was transported to San Mateo County Jail to be released when sober.

 

June 2

11:45 a.m., Highway 1 @ Highway 92 intersection: Passenger over 16 without seatbelt. Driving with a suspended license. Deputies observed a vehicle in which the passenger was not wearing a seatbelt. Once the vehicle was pulled over it was discovered that the driver had a suspended driver’s license. Both parties were cited and released.

10:20 p.m., 1000 Block of Frenchman’s Creek Rd.: Trespassing. Vandalism. Threats. When the property owner arrived one of the trespassers verbally attacked him as well as hit and threw things at his vehicle. He was located and detained by deputies and was booked into the San Mateo County Jail.

 

June 3

11:32 a.m., 700 Block of Kelly Ave.: Violation of Court. Deputies were dispatched on a report regarding the violation of a restraining order. The victim said she saw the restrained party walking approximately fifty yards from her residence for no apparent reason in violation of the restraining order. The restrained party booked into the San Mateo County Jail without incident

1:31 p.m., Highway 1 at Magnolia St.: Drunk in public. Deputies located an intoxicated subject passed out on a walking trail. The subject was unable to care for himself. The subject was arrested and transported to the County Jail.

9:38 p.m., 300 Block of Main St.: Public Intoxication. Deputy made contact with a subject, who was found to be too intoxicated to care for himself and was transported to San Mateo County Jail to be released when sober.

 

June 4

12:01 a.m., Highway 1 at Virginia, Moss Beach: Possession of marijuana. Deputies responded to a report of a vehicle driving erratically. When they made contact they found the 20-year-old male subject was in possession of marijuana. Subject was cited at the scene.

12:15 a.m., Highway 1 at 14th Street, Montara: Driving under the influence. A deputy noticed a vehicle with its high beam lights on. The deputy performed a traffic stop. He smelled alcohol coming from the driver, a 39-year-old woman. After several field sobriety tests, the subject was placed under arrest and cited for driving under the influence and transported to First Chance.

9:23 a.m., 400 Block of Oak Ave.: Hit and run with property damage. Unlicensed driver. Deputies responded to a report of a hit and run and after further investigation, the suspect was identified and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

3:50 p.m.: Stolen credit card. Unknown suspect used the victim's credit card in an attempt to purchase a computer. The fraudulent purchase was canceled when the victim was contacted to authorize the purchase and did not know anything about it.

9:08 p.m., 100 Block of Derecho St., Moss Beach: Misdemeanor. Warrant arrest. Deputies went out on an attempt service of a warrant. The 24-year-old male subject was located and arrested without incident. He was transported to San Mateo County Jail.

 

June 5

7:29 p.m., Highway 1 at Highway 92: Unlicensed driver. A deputy responded to a report of a reckless driver. When he made contact with the vehicle it was discovered that the driver was unlicensed. The driver was cited and the car impounded for 30 days.

 

June 6

11:05 a.m., 200 Block of Correas St.: Tampering with a vehicle. Deputies responded to a report of missing tags from a vehicle. The reporting party stated that the tags from two of her vehicles were missing and she believed someone took them. There are no suspects at this time.

1:21 p.m., 700 Block of Buena Vista St., Moss Beach: Vehicle towed. Registration expired over six months.

4:13 p.m., 100 Block N. Cabrillo Hwy.: Public intoxication. Deputies made contact with a subject, who was found to be too intoxicated to care for himself and was transported to San Mateo County Jail.

4:23 p.m., Highway 1 at Pescadero Creek Rd.: Possession of controlled substance. Paraphernalia. Deputies stopped a vehicle for driving over the speed limit. After asking the subject a series of questions, he admitted to having drug paraphernalia in his possession. Subject was site and released.

 

June 7

12:01 a.m., 2000 Block of Miramontes Pt. Rd.: Vandalism. The victim's vehicle was locked and parked on the street. Sometime during the night, unknown suspect smashed the front, rear and driver side windows to the vehicle. There were no witnesses to the crime, nor is there any suspect information available. Damage to the vehicle exceeded $500.

 

June 8

11:18 p.m., Cedar at Drake St., Montara: Minor possession of alcohol. Deputies dispatched to report of campfire in wooded area approximately quarter mile off the road. Firefighters and deputies walked into the camp and contacted four subjects. Two under the age of 21, a boy age 18 and one girl age 19, were arrested for possession of alcohol and released to a responsible adult. Fire personnel extinguished the campfire and all four subjects cleaned up the area before being dispersed.

June 11

3:40 p.m., 500 block of Kelly: Public intoxication. Deputies dispatched to report of an intoxicated 56-year-old man, bleeding from the head outside a convenience store. The subject was examined by Paramedics, then arrested for public intoxication and transported to SM County Jail.
