Blotter: More Hit and Runs, Driver With Marijuana Tries to Flee From Police

Here's what went down in and around Half Moon Bay last weekend.

The following information was supplied by the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Friday, Oct. 11

8 a.m. - 1300 Block of Columbus St. El Granada - Missing adult - Deputies responded to a report of a missing adult. He did not show up for work and his family had not heard from him in a few days. After conducting a house and vehicle check, the subject was entered into the missing persons system.

Saturday, Oct. 12

1:50 a.m. - 300 Block of N. Cabrillo Hwy., Half Moon Bay - Possession of Marijuana over 28.5 grams/Resist obstruct officer - During a routine traffic stop, deputies made contact with a subject who was in possession of marijuana. Before making the traffic stop, the subject attempted to flee from police. The subject was cited and released from the scene.

2:15 a.m. - N. Cabrillo Hwy / Coronado, El Granada - Warrant Arrest - Deputies made contact with a subject that was found to have a warrant for his arrest. The subject was transported to San Mateo County jail without incident.

7 a.m. - 8000 Block of Cabrillo Hwy., Montara - Burglary – 2nd Degree / Commercial - Deputies responded to a burglary report. The reporting party stated an unknown suspect entered the business and stole over $200 and caused over $400 in damages. No suspects or leads at this time.

9:30 a.m. - 600 Block of Myrtle St.,  Half Moon Bay  - Vandalism $400 or more - Deputies responded to a vandalism report. The victim stated that sometime during the evening an unknown subject spray painted the side of the victim’s car. The victim does not know who was responsible. No further leads at this time.

10:55 a.m. - 100 Block of San Mateo Rd., Half Moon Bay - Hit and Run - Report of a hit and run accident with no injuries.

Sunday, Oct. 13

11:52 p.m. - 300 Block of Capistrano Rd., Princeton - Public Intoxication/Release when sober - Deputies made contact with a 56 year old male from Pacifica, who was found to be too intoxicated to care for himself and was transported to County Jail to be released when sober.

Monday, Oct. 14

12:08 p.m.0-100 Block of N. Cabrillo Hwy., Half Moon Bay - Hit and Run - Report of a hit and run accident with no injuries.

1:20 p.m. - N. Cabrillo Hwy / San Mateo Rd., Half Moon Bay - Possession of marijuana while driving - Deputies made contact with two subjects, ages 49 and 50, from Hillsborough and San Mateo, who were found to be in possession of marijuana while driving, the subjects were cited and released from the scene.

7:35 p.m. - 200 Block of San Mateo Rd., Half Moon Bay - Under the influence of a Controlled Substance Probation Violation – Adult/Felony - Deputies made contact with a 34 year old man from Half Moon Bay who was found to be under the influence of drugs. The subject was also found to currently be on probation. He was arrested and booked in to county jail on a probation violation.
