BLOTTER: High School Faceoff; Kicking an Officer in the Chest

The following information was supplied by the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction. Police log for Half Moon Bay and the unincorporated San Mateo County Coast from Feb. 4-10.

Feb. 4

9:45 am, 100 block of San Mateo Road: Petty theft. Someone attempted to shoplift two candy bars from a store and when confronted returned the items.

1:40 am, 400 block of Laurel: Public intoxication. Officers arrested a man for being drunk in public.

6:40 pm, 200 block of San Mateo Road: Burglary. Several items were taken from vehicles while the owners were dining at a nearby restaurant.

10:56 pm, North Cabrillo and Main: Warrant arrest. A man was arrested after officers found out about an outstanding warrant during a traffic stop.

11:48 pm, 400 block of Capistrano Road, Princeton: Theft. A woman's purse was taken at a bar.

Feb. 6

Feb. 7

2:20 pm, Lewis Foster Drive: Battery. A battery occurred between two students at Half Moon Bay High school.

Feb. 8

12:45 am, 500 block of Coronado: DUI. After failing sobriety tests a drunken driver kicked an officer in the chest and caused another officer a knee injury before he was arrested and taken to county jail.

7:45 am, 100 block of North Cabrillo Highway: Traffic collision. Property was damaged in a traffic collision.

Feb. 9

1:17 am, North Cabrillo and Ruisseau Francais: DUI. Officers arrested a drunken driver.

Feb. 10

12:54 am, North Cabrillo and Roosevelt: DUI. Officers performed a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling at an unsafe speed and after failing sobriety tests the driver was arrested for drunken driving.

2:13 pm, 500 block of Terrace: Public intoxication. A drunken man and woman were arrested while in an open field during an argument.

3:51 pm, Grove at Main: Traffic collision. Property was damaged in a traffic collision.

10:15 pm, Main and Stone Pine Road: Misdemeanor warrant. Officers cited a man with a misdemeanor warrant.
