Blotter: Stolen Pest Control Car

The following information was supplied by the HMB Police/San Mateo Sheriff's Office. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction. Police log for Half Moon Bay and the unincorporated San Mateo County Coastside from June 2-9.

June 2

2:00 am, 0-100 block of Kelly Avenue: Outside agency assist. Two bicycles that had been locked underneath a recreational vehicle were stolen.

11:54 am, 0-100 block of North Cabrillo Highway: Theft. Liquor was reported stolen from a business.

June 3

Time unknown, 0-100 block of Bloom Lane: Identity theft. A woman was contacted by the California Franchise Tax Board regarding income tax. When she informed them that she only collects social security, the board recommended she file a police report.

6:00 am, 700 block of Avenue Cabrillo, El Granada: Theft. A tool box was stolen from the back of a truck, the box and tools inside valued at about $925.00.

7:15 am, 300 block of Butano Cut off, Pescadero: Commercial burglary. An unknown suspect(s) entered a classroom at Pescadero High School through a broken window and stole a laptop and digital camera. Another suspect around the same time stole five cases of various soft drinks from a storage area.

4:30 pm, 500 block of The Alameda, El Granada: Theft. A motorized chair was stolen from the front driveway of a residence, valued at about $3,000.

8:58 pm, 400 block of Pine Avenue: Misdemeanor. A person with an outstanding misdemeanor warrant, was then cited and released from custody.

9:36 pm, 600 block of Magnolia Street: Misdemeanor. A man known to have an outstanding “no-bail” warrant was located by the police and transported to county jail.

June 4

2:35 am, Route 1 and 92: Injury accident. An accident occurred causing major injuries at this location.

12:50 pm, 700 block of Mill Street: Information. A dog was found locked in a car with no ventilation. The owner arrived and was counseled.

9:14 pm, 300 block of Grove Street: Threat. A citizen received threats from a relative on Facebook.

June 5

2:04 am, 12000 block of San Mateo Road: Possession of marijuana. During a traffic stop on a vehicle the driver was found to be under the influence of alcohol and in possession of marijuana with intent to sell. The passenger was found to be a juvenile in violation of his probation.

10:25 am, 500 block of Kelly Avenue: Information. A child had taken food from a business without paying. The merchant wanted the parents notified but did not want action taken against the child.

6:21 pm, 0-100 block of Stone Pine Road: Information. A resident was receiving threatening text messages from an ex-boyfriend until he was contacted and advised to cease any further messages.

June 6

Time unknown, 0-100 block of North Cabrillo Highway: Petty theft. A camping stove and a bicycle were stolen from an unlocked vehicle.

6:45 am, 400 block of Grove Street: Vandalism. The tires of three parked vehicles were punctured.

8:00 am, 500 block of Church: Vandalism. A building window was smashed, but no entry was made.

4:50 pm, 400 block of Saint Joseph: Annoying phone calls. A citizen was receiving several unwanted phone calls.

5:21 pm, 100 block of Corona Street, Moss Beach: Warrant arrest. A man called county dispatch to tell them he had an outstanding warrant and wanted to be taken to jail.

9:35 pm, 100 block of Mirada Road, Miramar: Theft. Two people left a restaurant without paying and when they were later contacted, were discovered to be intoxicated. They were arrested and sent to the county jail.

11:15 pm, 100 block of Poplar Street: Felony. One of two citizens standing outside of a parked vehicle was found to have an outstanding “no bail” felony warrant and was arrested and transported to county jail.

June 7

Time unknown, 1000 block of Main Street: Vandalism. A citizen found his parked vehicle with broken windows. The owner was given information on how to receive a restraining order.

June 8

7:00, 1800 block of North Cabrillo Highway: Petty theft. A citizen reported being harassed by his ex-girl friend and suspects she stole two of his cell phones.

2:32 pm, Coastal Trail: Appropriate lost property. A man lost his wallet while bicycling on a trail, and later on discovered someone had used one of his credit cards.

3:18 pm, 0-100 block of Oceanview Avenue: Vehicle theft. A pest control professional parked his unlocked vehicle with the keys still in the ignition. A bicyclist later parked in the middle of the street, entered the car and drove away.

4:21 pm, 300 block of Central Avenue: Annoying electronic communications. A resident received an offensive email. The sender was contacted and stated he would stop contact with the resident.

5:33 pm, 0-100 block of North Cabrillo Highway: Burglary. Two juveniles were identified and reported to have taken clothing from a business without paying.

June 9

4:23 pm, 400 block of Casa Del Mar: Traffic collision. Property was damaged during a traffic collision.

Time unknown, 200 block of South Cabrillo Highway: Identity theft. A resident was inquired about receiving a letter from a financial institution requesting additional account information, however the name and address listed were not authentic.
