Blotter: Sugar in a Gas Tank, Smashed Windows, Driver Arrested for Meth

Here's what went down in Half Moon Bay over the weekend.

Friday, Aug. 23

4:37 p.m. - 200 block of Huckleberry Trail Un- incorporated - Information report - Deputy dispatched to child custody dispute, when one parent took a child on a road trip in violation of a court order. The other parent did not wish to seek prosecution, but wanted the incident documented.

7 p.m. - 0-100 block of Stone Pine, Half Moon Bay - Commercial burglary - Deputy took report of commercial burglary, when unknown suspect(s) smashed the window to the rear door of a business, and took an estimated $1,000 in cash.

7:21  p.m. -  300 block of 5th,  Montara - Misdemeanor warrant - Deputy made contact with a 29 year old male from Moss Beach wanted on a misdemeanor warrant out of San Mateo County. He was arrested and transported to SM County Jail.

8 p.m. - 2400 block of S. Cabrillo, Half M0on Bay - Information report - Deputy received phone call from out of town citizen who had stayed at a HMB hotel, and on the way home his vehicle broke down. A mechanic advised that sugar had been put in the gas tank. The victim wanted a report taken for insurance purposes.

11:44 p.m. - 600 block of Marine Blvd, Moss Beach - Information report - Deputy dispatched to report of harassing phone calls, when the victim reported getting unwanted calls from a previous co-worker. The woman was advised of the restraining order process and a report was taken to document the incident.

Saturday, Aug. 24

12:37 a.m. - N. Cabrillo @ Capistrano El Granada - DUI/Public intoxication - Driver arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol, and her passenger, who was determined to be too intoxicated to care for himself, and was also arrested, to be released when sober.

2:41 a.m. - Cabrillo Hwy @ Triple D Ranch Rd Un- incorporated - Take Dungeness crab out of season - Deputies on foot patrol observed several subjects with flashlights in the water, in an area known for crab poaching. The subjects left in three vehicles, including a van with its license plates removed. The Deputy performed a traffic stop and found a total of twelve passengers in the vehicles, along with 270 Dungeness crab. Ten subjects were cited for the infraction of taking crab out of season. The report will be forwarded to the Department of Fish and Game for their review.

3:20 p.m. - 3800 block of Cloverdale Pescadero - Information report - Deputies responded to report of grass fire. CDF responded and took control of the incident.

4:50 p.m. - 400 block of Oak, Half Moon Bay - Public intoxication - Deputy on patrol observed four subjects in the park consuming alcoholic beverages. Two of the subjects were determined to be too intoxicated to care for themselves. They were arrested and transported to SM County Jail, to be released when sober.

8:27 p.m. - 300 block of Main St., Half Moon Bay - Felony warrant - Deputies made contact with subject wanted on two felony warrants out of San Mateo County. He was arrested and transported to SM County Jail.

Sunday, Aug. 25

9:45 a.m. - 800 block of Sonora, El Granada - Vehicle burglary - Deputy took report of theft from vehicle, when unknown suspect(s) smashed a window to a locked vehicle and took various items valued at approximately $550.

10 a.m. - 400 block of Sonora, El Granada - Vandalism - Deputy took report of vandalism to vehicle, when unknown suspect(s) shot the rear window of a vehicle, apparently with a BB gun, causing approximately $1,000 damage.

3 p.m. - 200 block of San Mateo Rd, Half Moon Bay - Hit and run - Deputy dispatched to report of hit and run property damage collision, when an unknown driver hit a parked vehicle and failed to leave any contact information.

10:20 p.m. - Ave Alhambra @ Capistrano, El Granada - Possession of controlled substance/DUI - Driver arrested for possession of suspected methamphetamine, hypodermic needles, and for driving under the influence. The 32 year old woman from Moss Beach was transported to SM County Jail.
