Police were dispatched on Sunday to a report of a theft from a vehicle parked at the 1100 block of Main Street in Half Moon Bay.
A thief broke into a church group van parked on the city street and made off with more than $10,000 in audio visual equipment, police said Monday.
Sometime between Wednesday night and Sunday afternoon someone broke into the van on the 1100 block of Main Street, said San Mateo County sheriff's Deputy Rebecca Rosenblatt in a San Mateo County Times article.
The burglar took a laptop computer, two video mixers and a video camera the church had stored in the vehicle.
A church member from the Iglesia del Mar on Cabrillo Highway North discovered the break-in on Sunday and called deputies, who found evidence the culprit had also tried to steal the van as the vehicle’s ignition had been tampered with.
