Cars Collide In Front of John Muir Elementary

One car was flipped on its side. No one was injured in the crash, the principal said.

A three-car collision occurred this afternoon in front of John Muir Elementary as school was ending for the day.

Luckily, no one was injured, although details about the crash are still scant.

According to John Muir Elementary Principal Fran Dunleavy, the crash happened on Crestmoor Drive near Cambridge Lane at around 2:50 p.m., just as students were being dismissed.

Two cars were moving and one was car was parked, and one car was flipped on its side, Dunleavy said. Some Good Samaritans rushed to help the people in the car that was flipped, Dunleavy added.

"This is my worst nightmare," Dunleavy said, adding that she always reminds parents to drive safely in front of the school, especially during dropoff and pickup times. "We were lucky this time."

Dunleavy said all three families involved in the accident had children who attended the school.

The police and fire departments weren't available for comment.
