Between noon on Feb. 3 and 6 a.m. on Feb. 4, the CHP made more than 50 arrests in the Bay Area for driving under the influence, CHP Officer Art Montiel said Thursday.
Additionally, there were two collisions in which victims suffered life-threatening injuries, he said.
Montiel emphasized the importance of finding a sober driver, especially on days like Super Bowl Sunday.
"Don’t take chances with your life or the life of someone else," Montiel said. "Wear your seatbelt, be attentive, and drive sober."
