CHP Video Recalls Officer's Miracle Discovery Along Hwy. 280
In 1987, a Redwood City CHP officer made a routine stop along Highway 280. What he found was anything but routine.

This video, posted to the California Highway Patrol's Facebook page,
recalls the events on a cold December night in 1987 when an officer from the Redwood City office of CHP's Golden Gate Division discovered a newborn baby in a paper bag along Highway 280.
The following is an excerpt from the Facebook post:
"You can call it luck, chance, or maybe a miracle. A newborn baby girl, only a few hours old, left abandoned in a paper bag on the side of the road. CHP Officer Gibbons just so happened to stop on that road, in the right spot, at just the right time…
