Church Street Neighbor Yells Obscenities, Two Women Brawl on Main Street, Child Stranded on Pescadero Cliff

Here's what went down in and around Half Moon Bay over Pumpkin Festival weekend.

Friday, Oct. 18

4:46 p.m. - Johnson Pier Princeton -  Misdemeanor warrant - Deputy made contact with subject wanted on a misdemeanor warrant out of San Mateo County. She was arrested and transported to San Mateo County Jail.

10:40 p.m. - 1100 block of Main St., Half Moon Bay - Assault/Battery - Deputies dispatched to report of disturbance, when the reporting party advised a female was attempting to fight his wife. The two females, known to each other, were having an argument in which both parties hit and pulled each other’s hair. Both claimed the other struck first, and wished to seek prosecution. The case will be forwarded to the DA for review.

11:48 p.m. - 400 block of Capistrano Rd Princeton - Information report - Deputy made contact with a 17 year-old male juvenile in a parked vehicle late in the evening. The juvenile was visibly upset, and reported a male adult had yelled at him and pushed him for skateboarding on his property. The adult male was contacted and denied pushing the juvenile. The juvenile advised he did not want any further police involvement, and a report was taken to document the incident.

11:50 p.m. - 400 block of Capistrano Rd Princeton - Public intoxication - Deputies dispatched to report of disturbance at a bar. One male subject, a 38 year old from Half Moon Bay, was uncooperative and determined to be too intoxicated to care for himself. He was arrested and transported to San Mateo County Jail.

Saturday, Oct. 19

1:45 p.m. - 9500 block of Pescadero Creek Rd., Pescadero - Information report - Deputies dispatched to report of cliff rescue in Memorial Park, when a 6-year-old child was stranded at the end of a steep trail adjacent to a severe drop off to the creek below, after her father and 4-year-old brother had fallen down the embankment. Three park rangers secured the 6-year-old until Cal Fire arrived and removed the child from danger. The younger child received minor injuries and the father was transported by ambulance for a shoulder injury.

4:30 p.m. - 13000 block of Skyline Blvd. Unincorporated - Burglary from vehicle - Deputy took report of theft from vehicle, when unknown suspect(s) entered a locked vehicle and took a leather handbag and laptop computer. The loss was estimated at $1,300.

8:32 p.m. - Oak at Pilarcitos, Half Moon Bay - Public intoxication - Deputies made contact with several subjects, and determined one man to be too intoxicated to care for himself. He was uncooperative, and was arrested and transported to San Mateo County Jail.

9:30 p.m. - 500 block of Church St., Half Moon Bay - Information report - Deputy dispatched to report of disturbance involving two neighbors, when the reporting party advised a neighbor yelled obscenities at her and her guest in front of her minor children. The neighbor was uncooperative and refused to open her door and talk with the Deputies. A report was taken to document the incident.

9:15 p.m. - 300 block of Main St., Half Moon Bay - Public intoxication - Deputies dispatched to report of intoxicated female, and while attempting to make contact with her, her male friend became verbally aggressive and defiant. The man was determined to be too intoxicated to care for himself, and was arrested and transported to San Mateo County jail, to be released when sober.

9:40 p.m. - 300 block of Main St., Half Moon Bay - Public intoxication - Deputies responding to a disturbance call, made contact with a 43 year old transient who was determined to be intoxicated and unable to care for himself. He was arrested and transported to SM County Jail, to be released when sober.

11:30 p.m. - 2000 block of Bordeaux, Half Moon Bay - Information report - Deputies dispatched to report of disturbance, when the reporting party advised her intoxicated sister punched her and bit her when she attempted to keep her from leaving the residence. The victim did not wish to seek prosecution but wanted the incident documented.

11:59 p.m. - Cabrillo Hwy. at Etheldore, Moss Beach - Minor possession of alcohol/Possession marijuana under 28.5gms/Provisional license - Deputy performed traffic stop and found the juvenile driver transporting passengers in violation of his provisional driver’s license. One 17 year-old passenger was found in possession of alcohol, and another 17 year-old passenger was in possession of a small amount of marijuana. All were cited and released to a relative.

Sunday, Oct. 20

12:00 a.m. - 8100 block of Cabrillo Hwy., Montara - Misdemeanor warrant/Public intoxication - Subject contacted and found to be wanted on a misdemeanor warrant. The woman was determined to be too intoxicated to care for herself and was arrested and transported to San Mateo County Jail.

9:50 a.m. - Cedar at Alta Mesa, Montara - Misdemeanor warrant - Deputy on foot patrol came across two tents and litter found in an open space area. Deputies made contact with three male subjects, one of whom was found to be wanted on two warrants out of Redwood City. The 18 year old transient was arrested and transported to SM County Jail. The other two subjects were advised to clean up the campsite and leave the area.

5:55 p.m. - Church at Kelly, Half Moon Bay - DUI - Deputies dispatched to domestic disturbance in a vehicle and performed a welfare check. The driver appeared to be driving under the influence of alcohol, and failed field sobriety tests. He was arrested and transported to San Mateo County Jail.

6:20 p.m. - 400 block of Main St., Half Moon Bay - Public intoxication - Deputies on patrol made contact with two intoxicated subjects from Pescadero, who were determined to be unable to care for themselves. They were arrested and transported to San Mateo County Jail, to be released when sober.

6:50 p.m. - 4200 block of N. Cabrillo, Half Moon Bay - Public intoxication/Obstruct peace officer  - Deputies investigating a traffic collision observed a subject interviewing the involved parties. Initially the man was thought to be a friend or family member of one of the drivers, but the driver advised she didn’t know the man, who was interviewing her with a recording device. The man appeared to have been drinking and was arrested on charges of public intoxication and obstructing an officer’s investigation, and transported to San Mateo County Jail.
