County Sheriff's Office and Pacifica Police Checks Compliance of 160 Registered Sex Offenders
The check took place on Wednesday.
The San Mateo County Sheriff's Office and 12 other law enforcement agencies on Wednesday conducted a compliance check on 160 registered sex offenders living throughout the county.
More than 140 sex offenders in nine cities, coastal districts and unincorporated areas were found to be living at their registered addresses and complying with the terms of their probation or parole, San Mateo County Sheriff spokesman Lt. Ray Lunny said.
About 20 other registered offenders were not at home when the compliance officers tried to contact them, Lunny said. Follow-up investigations will be conducted to determine their status.

The operation was carried out by officers from more than a dozen agencies, including the U.S. Marshals Service, the Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office, and Pacifica, San Mateo, Burlingame, South San Francisco, Redwood City and East Palo Alto police departments.
