San Mateo County sheriff's officials are hoping someone may recognize the man in the attached surveillance images of a suspected bank robber.

Sheriff's Spokeswoman Dep. Rebecca Rosenblatt says the robbery happened Monday at the Wells Fargo on Laurel Street in San Carlos, around 2:52 p.m.

"An unknown male suspect entered the bank and approached a teller window," she said.  "The suspect told the teller the bank was being robbed and that he had a gun (though no gun was actually seen) and demanded money."

According to Rosenblatt, the teller complied with the orders, while triggering the silent alarm to alert police.  However, the man was out of the bank by the time cops arrived.

"Ultimately the suspect was able steal several thousand dollars before he exited the Wells Fargo Bank, walking southbound on Laurel Street," Rosenblatt said.

If you have any information about the incident, or can help ID the man seen in the attached photos, contact Detective Lisandro Lopez at 650-363-4055/e-mail: lxlopez@smcgov.org.

Anyone who may want to remain anonymous can call the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office Anonymous Tip Line at 1-800-547-2700.

Donna: Ease up on the coffee and your Caps Lock button is on LOCK.... this article was about a man who committed a crime - not your personal experiences with the bank he robbed. For any of us who need assistance with anger - we can get help at any Senior center or local YMCA or American Legion Post. Hope you feel better in the future but your reply was not really germane to editor Renee's original article.

Phillip, You speak from experience knowing where the Anger management places are obviously. It also appears you are the Head commentator and Cheer leader for this post and other posts. You lighten up with the key board yourself. There are places to entertain boredom such as your City Park with a good book, not hiding behind a keyboard sticking your nose where it doesn't belong. You can lighten up, don't make a suggestion to me if you can't handle a strong woman with her own opinions. Last I checked freedom of speech still exists here in the good old USA.

If you're keeping score, we'll see. I have nothing against the strong female. My wife and twin daughters are such. Your all cap rant said a lot about you - unless you forgot to look up to see you were typing with all upper case? http://www.ask.com/question/why-should-you-avoid-using-all-caps-in-your-email

FYI...I sell on the internet and I use the Caps On button, obviously I didn't bother to switch over to be etiquettely correct.
