Doctor Impostor Robs Nurses at Dominican Hospital

Nurses were robbed of nearly $4,000 on Wednesday by a woman posing as a doctor in a lab coat.

Sheriff's deputies are on the hunt for a woman pretending to be a doctor who stole nearly $4,000 from Dominican Hospital nurses on Wednesday.

At about 12:30 p.m., the suspect entered the hospital wearing a white lab coat and a stethoscope draped around her neck and made her way into a secure area, Deputy April Skalland said.

Inside she stole credit cards from three female nurses and then charged over $4,000 to the cards at local electronics stores.

No arrests have been made and thus far, the suspect is only being described as a black female. But investigators are looking over hospital surveillance footage as well as security tapes from the stores where the money was spent. According to Skalland, if the video could be useful, it will be released to the public.

Anyone with information on the incident is encouraged to call the Sheriff's Office at 831-471-1121.

A used the same tactic to steal wallets and credit cards from Dominican nurses and then went on a shopping spree at Target in San Jose.

Since they were credit card purchases, the victims will get their "money" back, I believe. As a recent patient in the ER, how can we restore faith in the people who are supposed to safeguard the place so that staff and patients feel safer? This should never happen again and yet, this is the second incident in recent years?

I would think individual secured lockers for the nurses is in order.

And another thing; the "Church" (owns Dominican) should being paying taxes on all the loot they skim from "us" through Medicare, spend a bit more money on security, and for the childrens sake- stop employing and annointing pederasts!!

It's amazing to me that people actually use this to attack and push their own fear based, unloving "church-hating" agendas. This is why my hometown of Santa Cruz sucks now, and after 45 years of only living in Santa Cruz, I moved to another state. Now I remember why. Grow up.
