DUI Arrests Made During Halloween Saturation Patrols

San Mateo County law enforcement officials stopped and screened a total of 77 drivers.

A driver was arrested during DUI saturation patrols this week in San Mateo County, according to Burlingame police.

In Half Moon Bay, a driver was cited for driving with a suspended license and another driver, a 17-year-old male who walked away from his car, leaving items from his vehicle scattered over the sidewalk, was arrested for public intoxication, according to the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office.

Between the hours of 6 p.m. and 2 a.m. on Monday through Thursday, San Mateo County law enforcement officials stopped and screened a total of 77 drivers.

One driver was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and a second driver was arrested for other criminal activity, police said.

Five drivers were also cited for operating a vehicle unlicensed or while suspended or revoked, police said.

DUI saturation patrols have been shown to lower DUI deaths and injuries, according to police.
