El Granada Woman Arrested for Alleged 'Abalone Shell' Attack on Sister-in-Law
A dispute over living arrangement precipitated the assault, authorities said.
A San Mateo County woman from the coastal town of El Granada was arrested Sunday after she allegedly hit her sister-in-law on the head with anabalone shell, a sheriff's lieutenant said.
Deputies responded to reports of a domestic dispute in the 600block of The Alameda just before 11 p.m.
The suspect, 49-year-old Angel Garcia, was apparently arguing with her sister-in-law over living arrangements, Lt. Larry Schumaker said.

At some point during the dispute, Garcia allegedly came up behindher sister-in-law and hit her twice on the head with an abalone shell,Schumaker said.
The victim refused medical treatment, though deputies reported shewas left with a lump on her head, according to the sheriff's office.

Garcia was cited for misdemeanor assault and released.
