UPDATE: I-280 and Hwy. 92 Ramp Expected to Open at 5 p.m.

A big rig overturned on northbound I-280 connector ramp late Friday killing at least one person; as of 6:30 a.m. Saturday, the ramp remains closed.

Update: 2:57 p.m. - According to CHP, the ramp is expected to open at 5 p.m.

The ramp connecting northbound Interstate Highway 280 to eastbound state Highway 92 in San Mateo County remained closed as of 6:30 a.m., nearly eight hours after a crash killed at least one person there, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The collision was reported at abbout 10:45 p.m. Friday on the northbound Highway 280 connector to state Highway 92. The crash caused a big rig to overturn and damaged a light pole and guard rail along the roadway, according to the CHP.

Officers closed the ramp and are advising motorists to avoid the area. No estimate for the ramp's re-opening or further details on the crash were immediately available this morning.
