A fight that took place on Halloween night in Half Moon Bay ended with a smashed windshield and a man being sent to the hospital, the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office reported this morning.

Sheriff's deputies responded to the incident at 11:39 p.m. located in the parking lot of the gas station on Kelly Ave. and Highway 1 after being told that a physical fight involving baseball bats and broken windows was taking place.

"Jorge Navarro had the bat, was backing away from the other two and was not swinging the bat at anyone," said Sheriff's Office spokesperson Lt. Ray Lunny. "There was one broken windshield of a car belonging to a friend of Navarro's."

One of the men, 23-year-old Paul Williams, was arrested for alleged vandalism and smashing the windshield of the car belonging to Navarro's friend with a baseball bat. Williams was also arrested for public intoxication.  Another man, 25-year-old Jesse Williams, was sent by paramedics to Stanford Hospital for treatment as authorities believed he was hit in the head with the baseball bat and was "in and out of consciousness," the Sheriff's Office said.
