POLICE BLOTTER: Gang Graffiti; Burning Trash; Marijuana Toss

The following information was supplied by the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction. Police log for Half Moon Bay and the unincorporated San Mateo County Coastside from July 4-11.

July 4

6:15 pm, 17400 block of Cabrillo Higway: Auto burglary. A wallet, sunglasses, various credit cards, a purse, jeys and a cell phone were taken from a vehicle parked at the Cowell Ranch Beach.

7:41 pm, Cabrillo Highway and Tunitas Creek Road: Auto burglary. Two purses with various contents were taken from a locked vehicle after the right rear quarter panel window had been smashed.

July 5

2:30 pm, 600 block of Main Street: Drunk in public. A man was found passed out in front of a business and was determined to be too intoxicated to care for himself. He was arrested and taken to county jail.

10:34 pm, 0-100 block of North Cabrillo Highway: Possession of controlled substance and marijuana. A woman and her boyfriend were in an argument, and she was found to be in possession of a controlled substance, and a pipe commonly used to smoke methamphetamine and a small amount of marijuana. She was arrested and taken to county jail.

July 6

12:49 pm, Laurel and Pilarcitos: Drunk in public. A motorcycle rider was seen running a stop light. He was found to be too intoxicated to care for himself and was taken to First Chance.

July 7

9:24 am, 900 block of Pacific Avenue: Vehicle tow. A vehicle was towed due to having an expired registration.

July 8

2:40 pm, Miramontes Point Road and South Cabrillo Highway: Vandalism. A vehicle was seen with a smashed window and a large rock inside.

2:52 pm, 1100 block of Loryn: Vehicle tow. A vehicle was towed due to an expired registration.

5:01 pm, Francis State Beach: Missing person. A missing adult female was found and removed from the missing person system.

6:46 pm, 0-100 block of North Cabrillo Highway: Arson. Trash was found burning on the side of a building.

July 9

5:35 am, 0-100 block of North Cabrillo Highway: Drunk in public. A woman who was harassing customers in front of a store was found to be intoxicated and taken to county jail.

8:30 am, 400 block of Grove: Vandalism. The window of a camper shell was found broken.

8:50 am, 200 block of Central Avenue: Vandalism. Gang-related graffiti was found spray painted on a vehicle, fence, and school buildings.

11:14 pm, 300 block of Main Street: DUI. The driver of a vehicle told officers that he collided with another vehicle when his passenger jumped from the front seat to the back seat. He was found to be intoxicated and failed sobriety tests. He was then taken to First Chance.

July 10

12:50 am, 300 block of Main Street: Drunk in public. While responding to a DUI collision officers determined the female passenger was intoxicated and taken to county jail where she was released from custody.

12:44 pm, Cypress and Pilarcitos: Driving with a suspended license. A man was cited for driving with a suspended license, license plate display violation and no proof of insurance.

July 11

3:05 am, 0-100 block of North Cabrillo Highway: Grand theft. A man who left his wallet at a retail store returned for it and found it was missing $650.

10:32 am, 0-100 block of North Cabrillo Highway: Probation hold. A man who was contacted by an officer tried to hide marijuana from him by throwing it over the officer's shoulder into some shrubbery. He was placed on probation and arrested on charges of resisting an officer, possession of marijuana and transported to county jail.

1:26 pm, South Cabrillo Highway and Kelly Avenue: Driving with a suspended license. A driver was cited for having a suspended license.

6:30 pm, Sweetwood Campground: Traffic collision. An injured bicyclist had lost control of his bike and fell. He was transported to a local hospital.
