Gas Leak Shuts Highway 92 Late Monday Afternoon

Update: Road now reopened.

UPDATE:  At 5:23pm, PG&E was able to plug the natural gas main that was leaking, allowing the California Highway Patrol to re-open the road.

A natural gas leak near state Highway 92 has shut down the road in
both directions between Main Street in Half Moon Bay and Skyline Boulevard, a
California Highway Patrol officer said.

A Sig-alert was been issued at 4:47 p.m. for the area, CHP Officer Amelia Jack said.

Motorists should take alternate routes, such as using state Highway 84 if they are traveling on Interstate Highway 280, Jack said.

CHP officers were still on the scene as of 5 p.m. and Half Moon Bay Public Works were also headed to the area to assess the situation, she said.
