In memory of longtime Half Moon Bay resident and passionate law enforcement supporter, Silvia Prewett, the Half Moon Bay Beautification Committee donated $13,422.62 toward a major kitchen upgrade for the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Department at its Half Moon Bay station at 537 Kelly Street.
Prewett was an active and committed member of the Beautification Committee for approximately 15 years.
Known as “Silvia’s Kitchen,” the area will serve as a convenient and enjoyable place for Sheriff’s Deputies to utilize as they are on duty in Half Moon Bay. The generous donation from the Beautification Committee went towards a complete oven and stovetop, a full size refrigerator, and new kitchen flooring as well as new cabinets. Previously, Deputies had a very limited kitchen that included a microwave and mini refrigerator.
“We view this donation to the Sheriff’s Department as the most appropriate way to honor Silvia Prewett,” stated Half Moon Bay Beautification Committee President Cameron Palmer. “She was a tremendous advocate of law enforcement and we hope ‘Silvia’s Kitchen’ shows the Sheriff’s Deputies our appreciation for everything they do for the community.”
