Half Moon Bay Firefighters and ACE Hardware Host National Fire Velo Ride

Cyclists riding to raise awareness for firefighters with cancer stop in Half Moon Bay to receive a donation and fuel up on a BBQ dinner.

On Sunday ACE Hardware store owner Eric Hassett joined the "National Fire Velo" on the first leg of their ride from Sausalito to Los Angeles.

They pedaled down the coast to raise awareness for firefighters with cancer.

Their first stop was at Half Moon Bay’s very own Hassett ACE Hardware, where Eric presented them with a donation of $500.

Later the Coastside Fire Protection District and Half Moon Bay Volunteer Fire Department hosted the riders for a BBQ before they pushed on for more riding.

According to Larissa Texter, Hassett ACE Hardware’s assistant brand manager, Hassett's partner in this event is a Bona (hardwood floor cleaning products) representative, who also rode along on a stretch of the "National Fire Velo" ride and is offering a special where $2 per Bona unit purchased will go to support the "National Fire Velo." It's $15.99 for the gallon jug (with free spray bottle).
