UPDATE: Highway One Accident Causes Power Outage

The fallen electrical wire prompted the closure of the roadway in both directions for about 45 minutes this morning.

UPDATE 10:10 a.m.:

About 56 customers in southern Half Moon Bay were without power as of 8 a.m., according to PG&E spokeswoman Jana Morris.

A vehicle struck a utility pole near Filbert Avenue at about 6:45 a.m., causing a live electrical wire to come down onto the roadway.          

No injuries were reported, CHP Officer Marc Johnston said.        

The fallen electrical wire prompted the closure of the roadway in both directions for about 45 minutes.           

PG&E crews were at the scene as of 7:30 a.m., Morris said.

PG&E expected to have power fully restored by 11 a.m.

UPDATE 8:02 a.m.:

Highway One is now reopened in both directions between Kelly and Filbert avenues in Half Moon Bay.

Both lanes were closed this morning due to a traffic accident.

Highway One is closed between Kelly and Filbert avenues in Half Moon Bay due to a traffic accident with electrical wires down and across the roadway.  

Use alternate routes.

The nature of the accident is unknown yet.
