Injured Man on Chartered Fishing Boat Aided By Coast Guard

The U.S. Coast Guard assisted a diabetic man today who had suffered head injuries on a charter fishing boat near the Farallon Islands.

The Coast Guard received the call for assistance from the El Dorado III around 10:30 a.m., according to Petty Officer Third Class Loumania Stewart.

A 47-foot motor lifeboat and rescue crew launched from Station Golden Gate in Sausalito and met the boat, which was around a mile from shore, Stewart said.

Two Coast Guard members boarded the fishing boat and monitored the injured man until he reached waiting paramedics in Sausalito.
