Trials for Man Charged with Attempt to Run Ex Off Highway Start Tomorrow

Half Moon Bay resident Saul Garcia Montelongo will face two separate juries in county court on Monday.

A man who was charged with a misdemeanor last month for attempting to run his ex-wife and children off Highway 1 in Half Moon Bay is scheduled to appear in county court tomorrow for two jury trials, according to the San Mateo County District Attorney's Office.

Half Moon Bay resident Saul Garcia Montelongo, 28, was accused of following his ex-wife and children in their car and allegedly trying to run them off the road, the District Attorney's Office said. No one was hurt in the incident, according to the Sheriff's Office.

At the time of the incident on Dec. 28, Montelongo was already facing misdemeanor charges for violating a family court restraining order, according to the District Attorney's Office. Montelongo is also scheduled to appear in court on Monday morning for a jury trial addressing the violation.

The District Attorney's Office has charged Montelongo with violating a protective court order and assault with a deadly weapon. The defendant has pleaded guilty to both charges.

Montelongo is currently out of custody on $10,000 bail.
