Massage Parlor Searched on Suspicion of Prostitution

Employee arrested and owner cited last week.

 

Police searched a massage business in San Mateo on Wednesday, arrested one employee on suspicion of prostitution, and cited the owner for several misdemeanor violations related to the business, police said.

Police had received several reports that the Celandine Day Spa at 155 E. Fifth Ave. was offering prostitution in addition to its regular massage business, and police gathered evidence supporting those reports, police said.

On Wednesday afternoon, police served a search warrant there, which led to one arrest and the citations for the business's owner, Daly City resident Michelle Yang, 41. Shui "Cece" Chen, 45, of Hayward, was arrested on suspicion of two counts of prostitution and was booked into San Mateo County Jail.
