Police Blotter - March 30- April 5, 2011

Theft, Drugs, ID Theft, DUI, Vandalism, Auto Burglary, Disorderly Conduct, Alcohol, Receiving Stolen Property, Minor in Possession of Alcohol, Possession of Marijuana under 28.5 grams, Possession of Controlled Substance, Petty Theft.

March 30

1:53 p.m., 200 block of Vermont Avenue, Moss Beach: Drugs. Deputies conducted a probation search and arrested two male subjects after finding them in possession of drugs, drugs for sale and drug paraphernalia. They were taken to county jail.

2 p.m., 400 block of Poplar: Grand theft. Officers took a report of the theft of a purse from an unlocked vehicle. The victim reported leaving her purse on the seat of her vehicle for approximately 15 minutes, and when she returned the purse was missing.

March 31

5:33 a.m., 0-100 block of North Cabrillo Highway: Petty theft. Police responded to a report of the theft of a dining set on display in front of a drug store. The table and chairs were valued at $100.

7:40 a.m., 900 block of Columbus Street, El Granada: Vandalism. Deputies were dispatched to Columbus on a report of vandalism to a vehicle. When they contacted the caller, they learned that several vehicles on the street were spray painted with silver paint.

2:21 p.m., Avenue Alhambra and Avenue Portola, El Granada: Public Intoxication. Deputies were dispatched to the area on a report of a subject yelling for help. They located the subject, who was intoxicated and unable to care for himself. He was arrested and taken to county jail.

6:47 p.m., Old La Honda Road and Skyline Boulevard: Warrant Arrest. Deputies made a traffic stop and contacted the driver. The driver told deputies that his license was suspended. A check through county communications revealed that the driver also had an outstanding warrant for his arrest and he was found to be in possession of drugs. He was taken to county jail.

 

April 1

1:30 a.m., 500 block of Grandview: Vehicle theft. Officers were dispatched to a report of possible intoxicated driver when the caller told police that his adult son took his vehicle without permission. The caller’s other son told police he believed the suspect had been drinking. Police later learned that the suspect was arrested by another law enforcement agency for DUI. The case will be forwarded to the DA on charges of vehicle theft.

Unknown time, 100 block of Main, Burglary. Officers took a report of the theft of gas after unknown suspect(s) siphoned three-fourths of a tank of gas from a truck.

 

April 2

2:09 a.m., Cabrillo Highway and California Avenue, Moss Beach: DUI. Deputies observed a vehicle driving under the speed limit and crossing over the lines of the highway. They stopped the vehicle and contacted the driver. The driver admitted to drinking before driving the vehicle. Field sobriety tests were conducted and failed. The driver was arrested and taken to county jail.


April 3 

1:10 p.m., 0-100 block of North Cabrillo Highway: Information report. Officers were dispatched to a disturbance when two parties argued about who dented the other’s vehicle when opening the door. A report was taken to document the incident.

6:16 p.m., 400 block of Vermont Avenue, Moss Beach: Vandalism. Sometime within the past two months, unknown suspects entered a locked storage facility,  broke three windows and vandalized the interior with graffiti. Sculptures with an estimated value of $20,000 were also damaged.

 

April 4

12:05 a.m., Highways 1 and 92: DUI, Unlicensed driver, Disorderly conduct, alcohol. Officers were dispatched to a report of a possible drunk driver swerving off the roadway and onto the shoulder. A sheriff’s deputy performed a traffic stop on the suspect vehicle and found the driver appeared to be intoxicated and driving without a license. The driver was arrested for driving under the influence, and his juvenile passenger was arrested for public intoxication. The juvenile was released to a parent and the adult driver to First Chance.

1:06 a.m., 1400 block of Main Street, Montara: Public Intoxication. Deputies were dispatched to a report of an intoxicated female refusing to leave an establishment. The subject told the deputies that she had been driven to this location then told to get out of the car. She told deputies that she had consumed four 24 oz. beers within the last two hours. She also told deputies that she was homeless and currently had no place to go. She was trying to get to San Francisco but had no way to get there. Due to her level of intoxication and her inability to care for herself, she was arrested and taken to county jail.

Unknown time, 0-100 block of North Cabrillo Highway: Obstructing an officer, Possession of marijuana under 28.5 grams. Officers were dispatched to a report of 10-15 Hispanic males wearing red clothing walking in the area of Pilarcitos Creek Bridge. Officers attempted to contact the subjects, who fled on foot. Police observed one 18-year-old subject discard a container of marijuana underneath a parked vehicle. Officers detained the subject, along with a 17-year-old juvenile on probation with gang affiliation conditions. The juvenile was arrested on charges of obstructing an officer and probation violation. The 18-year-old was arrested on charges of obstructing an officer and possession of marijuana.

 

April 5

2:35 a.m., 0-100 block of North Cabrillo Highway: Burglary, Receiving stolen property, Minor in possession alcohol, Probation violation. Officers were dispatched to a report of theft of alcohol from a store. An employee observed three subjects park a vehicle, and two of them entered the store, and then left carrying bottles of alcohol. Through investigation, police identified one of the subjects as a 17-year-old juvenile on probation. A search of his room revealed two bottles of the stolen alcohol. An additional eight bottles of alcohol were recovered, six with electronic security caps still attached. The juvenile refused to identify whom he was with. He was arrested and transported to Hillcrest juvenile detention facility.

10:40 p.m., Cabrillo Highway and Vermont Avenue, Moss Beach: DUI. Deputies stopped to check the welfare of the occupant of a vehicle that was parked in a gas station that was closed. They contacted the male occupant and found that he was intoxicated. He admitted to drinking before driving. Field sobriety tests were conducted and failed. The driver was arrested and taken to county jail.

Unknown time, HMBPD: Information report. An officer met with a parent concerned about a possibly inappropriate relationship his teenage daughter might be having with a known male sending her suggestive text messages. A report was taken to document the incident.
